Shift Labs Attends the Third Annual 2006 US – Russia Technology
Symposium at Stanford University
Palo Alto, California: February 10, 2006
Shift Labs CEO Miron Balyasny recently attended the third annual US – Russia Technology Symposium.
The event, sponsored by Stanford University and RusSoft brought together a wide spectrum of speakers.
In the past political and business figures such as; former US Defense Secretary
William Perry, Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiona and Boeing Russia President
Sergey Kravchenko have been keynote speakers at the symposium. This
year’s keynote speakers included: former US Secretary of State George
Schultz, Linkedin founder and CEO Reid Hoffman and Russian Consul General
Victor Lizun.
The symposium allowed Shift Labs to share its perspective on Ukraine’s
role in the recent technology boom which has affected several post-soviet
countries with a diverse group of business and policy leaders.
The symposium’s simultaneous focus on cutting edge technology and strategic
partnerships between eastern and western companies allowed Shift Labs to
gain new perspective on its position as an offshore software development
and product engineering company.
“The most interesting moment came when I saw the number of distinguished
speakers addressing the need to position Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth
of Independent States such as Ukraine as powerhouses in R&D and product engineering,
because that is where Shift Labs has been from the beginning” said Miron
